cyanobacteria, tardigrades, octopuses, and the moon

I read that the advent of cyanobacteria some 3500 billion years ago is the reason for life—that is to say, had cyanobacteria not formed, plants would not photosynthesize and there would be no oxygen for us to breath.

I read that tardigrades can outlive the sun, can survive in deep space, are indestructible.

Why aren’t there octopuses so giant that their limbs unfurl for eternity? An eternal hugging, or an eternal strangling depending on your perspective.

Now that the moon is waning again, I feel as if I can breathe.
